OCTRA Looses a Founding Member

Di Lindblad passed away in Pentang on Thursday Feb 23, 2012 of a heart attack. Di was 83 years old.

A memorial service will be held for Di during the summer. Details will be announced when they are available.

General: Nomination & Selection of Endurance Canada Team Officials

The Endurance Canada International committee is seeking applications for Team Officials for our Canadian Endurance Teams.  These positions are for a four year term, ending on December 31^st, 2014, following the 2014 World Equestrian Games in France. The intention of this process is to provide for an ongoing 'team' of Endurance Canada Officials to support the riders selected to represent our country at international events.

General: Triple Crown Award for 2011

The OCTRA Triple Crown Event: 2011

Open to all riders who compete in and complete all three listed OCTRA events; OCTRA Spring Fundraiser 75 miles, Provincial CTR Championships two day event, and the Provincial Endurance 100 miles. This challenge is to encourage and recognize: effort, growth, and achievement with a horse/rider team –  – and to emphasize the endurance motto: “To Finish Is To Win”

Rules to Remember:

• -The same horse and rider team must complete all 3 designated OCTRA events. (OCTRA Spring Ride 75 miles, PC CTR 2 Day Event, PC 100 mile Ride.)
• -An entry form must be submitted with your intention to participate; no fee is required – you just enter the rides and at the end of the season we will see how you did.
• -You must be an OCTRA member

Riders who complete all 3 OCTRA sanctioned events will receive:

• -A TRIPLE CROWN AWARD… probably a nice jacket!
• -A printed and framed “Achievement Certificate” to show that you really, really did it!

So… take up the challenge, win a great prize, and prove to yourself that you and your horse ARE champions!
