Just a quick call from Wendy to say she finished the FEI 1* 50 in 4th place on Smarty.
Said she had a great ride.
Some bad news - Teresa got pulled.
Jim and Quint are still out on the trail.
More when I hear something.

Carol Steiner and Jax have finished the 75 mile ride in 10th place. They may move up a few places as there is some rumour that people may have rode the loops in the wrong order.

From Nancy Beacon, We could not see lameness in Teresa's horse . Before ,during or after trot out. She took her horse to therapy place in FLA. day after and Vet there saw nothing wrong. Thats life. Happens to all of us if we live long enough. And stay in this or any sport. Today I am taking Alycin Hayes to the FITS grounds Her first time out with two castes on , One on each arm. Her horse fell with her while conditioning with Carol Steiner three weeks ago. This is her first time out of the house.

Just heard from Wendy again.
Bob Gielen won the 75 mile! He finished at 4:20 p.m. and was 20 minutes ahead of the second place horse. He has already stood Galaxy for BC.
The leaders in the 100 are out on their last loop. John Crandell is running first, Meg Sleeper 5th, Wendy MacCoubery 7th.

I just heard from Wendy M this morning, she had a great ride and finished 6th in the 100 in 8:30 hours.
I only have the names of the riders - John Crandell was first in a little under 8 hours, Cathy B (2) Valerie (3) these 2 could switch places, Wendy wasn't quite sure Crista 4th
Meg Sleeper 5th Wendy M 6th and Melody 7th, that was all she new.
In the US if you run under 9 hours, your horse is now considered Elite and does not have to race for a spot on the team any more, its to keep the horses from being over ridden. She thinks all the top 10 could be under 9 hours.
Wendy had a great week, she rode Smarty 50 miles and placed in the top 5, rode a young horse for Valerie on its first 25 mile ride and place 6th then rode Dazed & Amazed in the 100 and placed 6th.

Bob Gielen won BC in the 75. Heraldic won BC in the 100. Wendy said the front runners did the 100 in under 9 hours.
Yvette completed in 13th and got her COC. |
