| Is it possible to bring non OCTRA members to a ride and tie as they would like to run the course. They have limited experience with horse back riding and will always stay with the rider. They do not have OEF. They would only have work medical insurance. I was going to send in a form to sign up for Aprilfest but just making sure it is ok. Thanks Linda |

The short answer is yes you can have a non member do R&T. The insurance is on the horse and is done by the owner or leaser of animal.
This non OCTRA member may have to pay the extra for day entry because they are a non member.
So bring on your new running partner and have fun. |

It is my understanding that all riders must have personal liability insurance. So if this person will be on the horse, even just to ride into the vet check, then would they not require personal liability insurance?
I agree that they would have to pay the non-member OCTRA day fee to participate in the event.
And I agree about bringing in new people and having FUN! |

| Both "riders" [even if its only 20 feet] will need OEF memberships or proof of off farm liability insurance. |

Yes, OCTRA day membership will apply and I'll need proof of insurance for both team members. Does tend to limit our event participation but does ensure our sport's future. Perhaps OEF needs to hear there is a demand for day membership too,

I have put some inquiries into OEF to see what might come back on this. I am sure other horse sports have run into this same need. Will let you know if I get an answer.

| Susan Bell from OEF said they do not have day memberships. I am still checking with them on other options. |
