Hi everyone,
I was wondering if there is a height restriction to participate or if there are different classifications for our pony sized mounts. My little Morgan mare is 13.3hh and I'm wanting to get into the sport for fun.
Thanks so much! |

| Gosh no! All heights and sizes are welcome. It is often the little guys that do very well at the sport and your mare looks lovely to say the least. Morgans can have other issues, like cooling, depending on the horse, but they are definately troopers and we have a few out on the trails in OCTRA. |

Thanks so much for your response and wonderful comments!
My girlfriend and I have been talking about getting into the endurance sport for a while now
and are doing a lot of reading. We're hoping to get involved next year |

I have been riding my little Morgan mare Miss T ( 14.2) for about 7 years in this club and despite some setbacks
she is still going!!!!!! SHE IS AWESOME ( totally objective opinion there <grin>) and I would not trade her for
anything< so come on out and definitely bring your Morgan >: )

Definitely not - I've done CTR and END on ponies 14.1 and on tall horses up to 16.2hh. As there is no set height or stride length requirement it is the perfect sport for all breeds plus all shapes and sizes.
OCTRA has had Icelandics, Paso Finos and Welsh Ponies right through to half-Clydesdales. While the majority of horses are of Arabian blood it is not restricted to them. |
