Year End Awards

OCTRA members are eligible for year end awards. Top horses in each discipline, riders, and in some cases, volunteers may compete for these awards. Some awards such as The Francis Eichler Memorial and Prince Calib Memorial are won by nomination and vote, while others are awarded by points or mileage earned. awards99 awards99

Honour Roll

Horses on the Honour Roll must be retired from active competition and have been retired in serviceably sound condition after at least five years of good performance.

Stall of Fame

The OCTRA's Stall of Fame was introduced to recognise outstanding lifetime acheivement in the sport of long distance riding. All horses inducted in the Stall of Fame must meet at least two of the four criteria as follows

  • OCTRA Year End Top Five in any two of three disciplines for at least two years.
  • A consistent record demonstrating a high completion rate.
  • Has been short-listed for a national or international event more than once.
  • A record of longevity and performance i.e.: five years with 80% or greater top ten finishs.


Horses must be or have been owned by an OCTRA member during the time of its achievments and show qualities of achievements above others competing at the time.
